Error when starting ReportBuilder: “Unable to install this application because an application with the same identity is already installed.”

Problem is caused when you run Report Builder from multiple SharePoint servers. RB is cached with setting from previous server and cannot run with this settings on new one.

  1. Open a command prompt (Run as admin).
  2. Enter the following: rundll32 dfshim CleanOnlineAppCache
  3. Press Enter.

Sometimes, you have to do additional operations:

  • Restart browser
  • Go to the C:\Users\[User Name]\AppData\Local\Apps\2.0 and delete the all temporary files.
